Two retreats a year, Spring and Fall are organized and held at the Gananoque Inn, in Gananoque, Ontario. In 2008, the Spring Retreat will be from Friday May 2nd to Sunday May4 th with the extra day on Monday May 5th for those who want to extend their weekend. In the Fall the dates are Friday October 24th to Sunday October 26th, and the extra day on Monday October 27th.
Here is the basic weekend schedule:
On Friday, retreaters can check in anytime during the afternoon. Friday night starts with a wine and cheese get together followed by dinner. After dinner there is plenty of opportunity to get acquainted or re-acquainted with your fellow “Retreaters”. In the evening we will be holding our Stitchers’ Gallery. It features pieces that were stitched by Retreaters and finished over the past year (or so). Be sure to bring a masterpiece to display.
Classes on Saturday are optional and not part of the basic weekend fee. Classes begin at 9:00am, break for lunch at noon and continue until about 5:00pm. In the event of half-day classes, they either conclude at lunchtime or begin after lunch. Of course, if you just want to bring one of your own projects to work on, there will be a large common stitching room available all weekend. After dinner, loot bags and door prizes are on the agenda and fun will be had by all!
Sunday morning classes begin at 9:00am and end at 11:30am so we can enjoy a wonderful lunch, after which we will all depart for home and the real world.
Please be sure to let us know if you need a ride to and from the Inn. We have plenty of volunteer car poolers.
The weekend fee structure for 2008 is $545 per person for double and $660 for single. We are offering an extra day for those who just can’t bear to go back home and would like to stay on until Monday. The cost of the extra day is $175 for double and $235 for single. These prices include your accommodation for 2 nights, all meals, gratuities, as well as a Sunday morning class. Saturday classes are extra. Retreats tend to fill up quickly, so to avoid disappointment let us know your intentions as soon as possible.
To register, please call/e-mail the store and send in your $100 deposit. (Please make cheques payable to Maria Murphy) Once the classes are announced, please call the store to register for the classes that you are interested in taking as soon as you can since there are class maximums.
If you wish to spread out your payments, you may send us postdated monthly cheques.
